August 14th is the date from 3pm. to 7pm at Kakaako Park, it is a free event so come through and bring as many friends and family as you want because Jesus paid the price already! There will be plenty of dope artists displaying their skills along with musical performances by local artists featuring Bridging the G.A.P. and Native roots. To help those who have children starting school and are in need for school supplies they will be given out while supplies last. There will be food and fellowship with brothers and sisters in Christ as well as those families and just people enjoying the park that day so it will be a great opportunity to represent the one and only Jesus Christ and minister as the Spirit of God leads us. It's gonna be a dope one so don't say later that you missed it but be the one that said you were there and you saw the many great things the Lord did that day.... all in the name of Almighty Jesus Christ. This summer I am pushing myself to read more. Late last year I asked the Lord to reveal more of Himself to me and He led me to dig deeper into His Word. So my goto everyday has been my bible and my devotional by Oswald Chambers which led me to start to search and start finding preachers and pastors who are passionate to proclaim the whole counsel of God. Therefore I have chosen books by John Piper, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and Lee Camp. These theologians bring the meat and just keep it real to what following Jesus is really about. There are plenty more of theologians but felt led to read these. If you have a chance to checkout these men of God for yourselves it will truly bless your walk. Here is my summer reading line up... well to keep it real it might take me til' the end of this year just because these books are loaded. If you do read them make sure you have your bibles open!

This is the tenth post in a series of twelve. The content comes from “Twelve Appeals to Prosperity Preachers” found in the new edition of Let the Nations Be Glad.

A fundamental change happened with the coming of Christ into the world. Until that time, God had focused his redemptive work on Israel with occasional works among the nations. Paul said, “In past generations [God] allowed all the nations to walk in their own ways” (Acts 14:16). He called them “times of ignorance.” “The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent” (Acts 17:30). Now the focus has shifted from Israel to the nations. Jesus said, “The kingdom of God will be taken away from you [Israel] and given to a people producing its fruits [followers of the Messiah]” (Matthew 21:43). A hardening has come upon Israel until the full number of the nations comes in (Romans 11:25).

One of the main differences between these two eras is that in the Old Testament, God glorified himself largely by blessing Israel so that the nations could see and know that the Lord is God. “May [the Lord] maintain the cause of . . . his people Israel, as each day requires, that all the peoples of the earth may know that the Lord is God; there is no other” (1 Kings 8:59-60). Israel was not yet sent on a “Great Commission” to gather the nations; rather, she was glorified so that the nations would see her greatness and come to her.

So when Solomon built the temple of the Lord it was spectacularly lavish with overlaid gold.

The inner sanctuary was twenty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, and twenty cubits high, and he overlaid it with pure gold. He also overlaid an altar of cedar. And Solomon overlaid the inside of the house with pure gold, and he drew chains of gold across, in front of the inner sanctuary, and overlaid it with gold. And he overlaid the whole house with gold, until all the house was finished. Also the whole altar that belonged to the inner sanctuary he overlaid with gold. (1 Kings 6:20-22)

And when he furnished it, the gold was again just as abundant.

So Solomon made all the vessels that were in the house of the Lord: thegolden altar, the golden table for the bread of the Presence, the lampstands of pure gold, five on the south side and five on the north, before the inner sanctuary; the flowers, the lamps, and the tongs, of gold; the cups, snuffers, basins, dishes for incense, and fire pans, of pure gold; and the sockets of gold, for the doors of the innermost part of the house. (1 Kings 7:48-50)

It took Solomon seven years to build the house of the Lord. Then he took thirteen years to build his own house (1 Kings 6:38-7:1). It too was lavish with gold and costly stones (1 Kings 7, 10).

Then, when all was built, the point of this opulence is seen in 1 Kings 10 as the queen of Sheba, representing the Gentile nations, comes to see the glory of the house of God and of Solomon. When she saw it, “there was no more breath in her” (1 Kings 10:5). She said, “Blessed be the Lord your God, who has delighted in you and set you on the throne of Israel! Because the Lord loved Israel forever, he has made you king” (1 Kings 10:9).

In other words, the pattern in the Old Testament is a come-see religion. There is a geographic center of the people of God. There is a physical temple, an earthly king, a political regime, an ethnic identity, an army to fight God’s earthly battles, and a band of priests to make animal sacrifices for sins.

With the coming of Christ all of this changed. There is no geographic center for Christianity (John 4:20-24); Jesus has replaced the temple, the priests, and the sacrifices (John 2:19; Hebrews 9:25-26); there is no Christian political regime because Christ’s kingdom is not of this world (John 18:36); and we do not fight earthly battles with chariots and horses or bombs and bullets, but spiritual ones with the word and the Spirit (Ephesians 6:12-18; 2 Corinthians 10:3-5).

All of this supports the great change in mission. The New Testament does not present a come-see religion, but a go-tell religion. “And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age’” (Matthew 28:18–20).

The implications of this are huge for the way we live and the way we think about money and lifestyle. One of the main implications is that we are “sojourners and exiles” (1 Peter 2:11) on the earth. We do not use this world as though it were our primary home. “Our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ” (Philippians 3:20).

This leads to a wartime lifestyle. That means we don’t amass wealth to show the world how rich our God can make us. We work hard and seek a wartime austerity for the cause of spreading the gospel to the ends of the earth. We maximize giving to the war effort, not comforts at home. We raise our children with a view to helping them embrace the suffering that it will cost to finish the mission.

So if a prosperity preacher asks me about all the promises of wealth for faithful people in the Old Testament, my response is: Read your New Testament carefully and see if you see the same emphasis. You won’t find it. And the reason is that things have dramatically changed.

“We brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content” (1 Timothy 6:7-8). Why? Because the call to Christ is a call to “share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus” (2 Timothy 2:3). The emphasis of the New Testament is not riches to lure us in to sin, but sacrifice to carry us out.

One providential confirmation that God intended this distinction between a come-see orientation in the Old Testament and a go-tell orientation in the New Testament is the difference between the language of the Old Testament and the language of the New. Hebrew, the language of the Old Testament, was shared by no other peoples of the ancient world. It was unique to Israel. This is an astonishing contrast with Greek, the language of the New Testament, which was the trade language of the Roman world. So the very languages of the Old and New Testaments signal the difference in mission. Hebrew was not well-suited for missions to the ancient world. Greek was ideally suited for missions to the Roman world.

This is the third year so you know this ministry is trying to establish something from their passion to reach the youth. This is a powerful line up as you will be fed plenty of meat to chew on as they lyrically release the power through their words to bring you closer to the Lord. Come and support... the only way we are gonna see events like this happening more often so the youth will have a place to go every weekend to edify them is to show up and say we believe in what you are doing... that we want to see change. It's hard to believe that we started two years ago but didn't start doing events until the beginning of 2009. Since we are just starting and don't have a physical store the only way we can be known is to do booths at events. Let me tell you that it is a grind doing booths and to see how we started and started to evolve the booth as time has gone on is pretty incredible. First you have to have some creativity with the space and how much space you have been given. Second is all the stuff you have to bring to set it up and make it look appealing to the customer. Third is the elements especially doing outdoor events. With all that goes to doing events I have been blessed to have been able to do this and would not have done it any other way. As God is opening doors to more opportunities we still are praying and believing for a physical storefront here in Hawaii. Please if you find it in your hearts to pray alongside us for the same thing, join us and come into agreement with us because when it happens it will open the doors to so many possibilities to promote the kingdom of God through the arts. If you don't know.... now ya know. Yes there are DJ's out there who use their skills to promote the Kingdom of God. Dj Transform and the crew definitely rep the kingdom well by giving us mix sets that will have you nodding for a good hour. They can be found in the itunes podcasts. i love listening to their mixes as i sit at the computer and design. I grew up in the Bay Area where most of the top Djs come from. Back then it was all house parties and Dj battle with everyone representing their own crew. All I know is that you can't have a party or event without a Dj.... no way. There is something special to hear how a Dj can blend in a song with another and just blow your mind because you would have never imagined the two blending together. Or juggling beats, the scratches to the beat and just the creativity to tell a story through a mix. I definitely looked forward to the release of a new mixtape back in the day. What brought joy to my me lately was to find a brother in Christ here in Oahu who was a Dj back in the day and is gonna resurrect those skills for the Kingdom... shouts to Dj Believa. Well support this ministry of The Midnight Prophets Crew and show them some love so they can be encouraged to keep on representing and any other Djs out there who are doing it as well and definitely keep praying for the souls of all those Djs out there in the world that they may turn to Christ and glorify Him in all they do. It was a cool vibe at Jazz Minds last night for the SPOKE-IN event put on by the God Squad. It was a nice crowd that came out and they definitely got an earful with Bridging the G.A.P. preaching the Word of God through their music. The photos tell the story of how they totally manifested Jesus so much that their faces were not shown but were a blurrr to the words they spoke in faith. I am definitely excited to see this event grow island wide and will definitely do my best to promote it so that all will be coming from all over the island to support venues like this where the Gospel can be preached through the arts. K Love made a guest appearance to start BTG's set hitting the crowd with his Slam poetry that definitely made them wish they had a rewind button to soak it all up hahaha. Big ups also to the people who displayed their gifts and talents even the testimonies spoken. After the show it was some good fellowship and relationships being made and thats what its all about folks, the body of Christ uniting and coming together. Last of all I would like to thank all who supported Afresh Clothing by stopping by and picking up the new releases. Our church declared a 21 day Daniel fast( all you can eat is natural foods) until Thanksgiving. It comes at a good time because of everything that I am working on for the upcoming season. There will be a lot of change and new directions for Afresh as a whole. This fast will definitely grow me closer to my Source to help me see the mission clearer in all I hope to accomplish. I had to do some recent shopping and pick some different choices for my meals. When you choose to eat meals that are purely from the soil God rains upon the food has so much color and life to it. Even the beauty God paints comes alive to keep my creativity afresh.

Chilling at a cafe is the best way to spend your mornings especially if it is raining outside. There is just something about a cafe that is personal and not commercialized. Cafe Fresh is the spot where I can read my Word and get my daily dose of expresso to kick start the creative juices. 2010 is almost here and we are getting ready for our Spring 2010 line already. It will be our first major release. We will drop a few pieces for the winter but our main focus is for next year. This morning my son and I got to spend the morning reading the Word of God together and enjoying an awesome view over the ocean. The looks we were getting and all the smiles as they walked by seeing my son reading the Word showed even though they might not have been believers, they appreciated the gesture of teaching the youth about righteous things. A man even stopped by and asked what the word of the day was and my son got to share what he had learned about... and he said the greatest commandment of all was to love God and one another and if we obey Jesus we will remain in His love. The greatest things in this life is not the accomplishments and all the accolades you can achieve but to know you are passing on the Word of God to the next generation. Now that's AFRESH!

The other day my friend blessed my whole fam with bibles. This one is mines, a leather bound edition. I ain't never got one like this before and she even personalized it for me. That was the icing on the cake. I never really tripped about having my own personalized bible before, I would always use the ones they bless you with at church but now that I have mines! It's different.... it just is. I want to always bring it to church or open it up and study the Word at home. The edition I got even gives you extra bits so you can understand it better. I just wanna say big ups to my friend Linda for being a blessing to me and my fam. It has definitely brought my hunger back for the Word. Stay Blessed.

I would like to apologize for not being into this blogging tip for a minute. Things have been crazy for me this summer on a personal tip so I decided to take a step back and handle what I had to handle. Things are finally settling in so your boy has time now to focus and get my mind AFRESH.... here is jus a few things I have been doing. For all of you who support Afresh, my apologies for staying away so long. I have been focusing a lot on family lately so I really haven't had any time to blog or stay updated. Thank you for your patience with the web store. We are working on new designs for the summer and will be closed until further notice. Starting June 21st Word of Life Christian Center will be having their Emerge 09 Conference all week so please if you are on the island come out and support. Even if you don't go to the church come out anyways for the real church is us and we are not confined by any walls. We just worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ anywheres so tell your peeps and come to this bomb conference happening all week. This weekend Afresh was blessed to be a part of the fashion show at Word of Life Christian Center. It was a successful event with a good turn out but unfortunately your mans dropped the ball and forgot my camera so I don't have pics to show you. All I can say is the Afresh segment wrecked shop and did the thing up in the house. Some of the Blessing Crew boys and a few girls from SMPA blessed the segment with a choreographed routine to "FREEZE" by T-Pain. It was so poppin' that Pastor Art and Kuna wanted to bless the congregation with the routine and showed it at the 9, 11am and 6pm service the next day. I did bring my camera the next day so here is one of the dancers. Stay tuned til' the next Afresh post. Stay blessed.

To die on a cross and be raised from the dead on third day and is now seated at THE RIGHT HAND OF THE FATHER. This is known as the Good News, the Gospel.

The Way ..... in John 14:6 Jesus said "I am the way, the truth , and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." The word "the" is the key word, it says that Jesus is the only way to the Father. It does not leave any room for questioning, it declares that there is only one way. The new release depicts a one way sign but the word "one" is replaced by the word "the", it also has an AFRESH sticker and Jesus' name tagged. On the back right bottom another style of a one way sign has the scripture that inspired the design. The first followers of Jesus were called the "followers of the Way". Instead of following a religion, which can sometimes distract us... become a follower of the Way which comes through a one on one relationship with Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Yesterday at HCC( Honolulu Community College) we set up shop for their annual Springfest. It was a beautiful day with lots of good food, music and plenty people. The BC boys performed and of course rocked the crowd. Thank you to all who supported and showed their love for Afresh Clothing. The highlight of the night was the fire dance this young kid did.... it was off the hook.

ISLAND FLAVOR WITH A PUNCH!

To all in this world who are loved by God and called to be his holy people. Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Tuesday the 24th of March we will be releasing our third design "HATE THE SIN NOT THE SINNA PLAYER" at the Dominate 808 Confernce held at the Aloha Stadium parking lot. We will have a booth set up for two nights, Tuesday and Wednesday. IT WILL BE AVAILABLE ON THE ONLINE STORE MONDAY THE 30th of MARCH. The Blessing Crew will be performing both nights as well so come out to support the movement. Romans chapter 12 verse 9 says Love must be sincere, Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Jesus gave us a commandment to love one another. This commandment wasn't just for the people who are good to us; it was to all people good or bad. So if it was a commandment then there is no if ands or buts about it. Going back to the verse this summarizes the new release perfectly. This is the hardest thing to do and it is an area that needs the most work in our lives. We tend to hate the sinners; pimps, prostitutes, murderers, thiefs, drug dealers, gang bangers, troubled youth, homeless, mentally disturbed, those who do us wrong. Jesus hated the SIN but loved the sinner. These are all the type of people Jesus came for, loved, had patience for and had compassion on. He did not approve of their sin but still saw the beautiful creation of His Father beyond that. I believe it will always be a hard area in our lives to be like our Lord in this matter but I believe if the same Spirit that dwelt in Jesus when he had compassion for them is now living in us then we can have compassion and mercy for the sinners too. The new release comes in a black shirt with the island flavored colors of green, yellow and red. The front has the logo dove in the left bottom wrapping around the side. The back has the wording "HATE THE SIN NOT THE SINNA PLAYER". The shirt is hot and already the preorders are selling fast so don't sleep on this super sick shirt. What up my folks its been awhile since I updated this blog so here I picked one thing that God has blessed Afresh with.... thats the Blessing Crew. Last year in November I was blessed to be one of the sponsors for the Blessing Crew. Real quick, they are a dance crew that ministers to mostly youth throughout the islands of Hawaii through there dance. They are so much more than this but I will let you know more in another post. Well what I thought was just a sponsorship has turned out to be so much bigger. It was definitely a divine appointment from God. Recently I was able to travel to Kauai with them to see what they do and to fellowship with the crew. Here are some pics, peep them out and I will finish the story after......

All that happened in one day two schools and a fair to cap it off. On this trip I got to know these fellas and I can say they are bout it bout it when it comes to their character and integrity. Whether performing and ministering or just kickin' it they stay the same. They are like one person with multiple personalities. They are different individuals with different characters but they all have the same heart, same mind, same joy when it comes to loving the LORD... serving the Lord... serving others and just having fun to the fullest. It was a definite blessing for me to be a part of this trip because the spirit of this crew edifies and builds any that are around them. During this trip I was officially accepted into the Blessing Crew Family. It is an honor to be a part of this family. So now it is no longer a sponsorship but its family bizness now. The reason I believe it was a divine appointment from God is because there was a peace felt throughout the both parties spirit and the common visions and goals to first glorify God... serve God... serve others and lastly to resurrect this young generation from the dark world we live in. Afresh, GOD and Blessing Crew linked up and "UNBREAKABLE".

SPIT LIFE OR DEATH THAT IS THE QUESTION?

First off is the logo tee in white with a carolina blue print which looks and feels oh so fresh and so clean... clean ya know what i mean! The next shirt labeled "SPIT LIFE" comes in an new navy blue shirt with a design in shimmering gold, white and black that jumps out at ya to get the message across. Inspired by the scripture proverbs 18:21 "The tongue has the power of life and death and those who love it will eat its fruit." This is a powerful scripture because it basically tells us we can either preserve life or can kill life with the words we speak. Our young generation needs to hear life spoken to them because pretty much the world is raising up this young generation to live a life that leads to certain death with all the hollow messages seen in the media and entertainment world. "SPIT" is the street vernacular for speak, deliver lyrics or just come with your words in such a way as to influence those who hear you to believe in what you say. So with that said let us "SPIT LIFE" into this young generation so we truly can have change for the better.

Afresh has released its newest design called HEAVENLY MINDED for the ladies and fellas. COL. 3:2 says... set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. We are to focus our minds to constantly have an attitude that reflects the Lord Jesus Christ. Also we should live our lives with the hope that one day we will be with our God in Heaven forever. So with this hope our minds should be concerned with those heavenly things. The men's shirt comes in two colors red w/gold foil and black w/silver foil... bein' from the yay(bay area, ca.) I had to do the colorways reppin' the team colors for the 49ers and Raiders. The ladies shirt also comes in two colors fuschia pink w/silver foil and purple w/gold foil. Since I missed the ladies on our last release this month features the logo shirt for the ladies in two colors aqua blue w/ white print and ablack shirt w/ hot pink print. Like New Edition said... Can You Stand the Rain? When the love of God is involved the elements can't stop it from happening. When its storming and you got an outreach to do it takes faith to persevere through it all. That's exactly what happened today at K.P.T., nothing could stop the outreach we had today. Led by Pastor Art and Kuna Sepulveda of Word of Life Christian Center and Pastor T. AluAlu of Solid Rock Fellowship( which is located right in K.P.T.) many families of the community were blessed with a pre-Thanksgiving meal and if that wasn't enough there were various acts who performed to make the night enjoyable. One of the acts that stood out was the 117 Crew from Solid Rock Fellowship who performed over a well known Chris Brown beat that had the audiences heart noddin' to the beat as they preached the Word through their music. Each one of the members had a different style of flow but were all united with the message of glorifying the Lord Jesus Christ. This crew got talent and can spit... deliverin' lyrical fire for the heart. All in all it was a blessing to all who came.A shout out to Fika Esau who never forgets where he came from and always has a heart for his community. Shouts go out to the directors and volunteers who donated their love toward the event... without their faith the Love of God would still be found in the Word... but because they moved in faith the Hand of God touched those that came and the Love was ministered. Last of all SHOUTS of PRAISE goes out to Almighty God for His undispensible mercy and grace which moves people to act out in love no matter what comes in the way of doing it.

It represents the only ghost in my life and that is the Holy Ghost a.k.a. Holy Spirit... Advocate... Spirit of Truth... Counselor... Comforter... Teacher... Revealer... one who gives me the strength and power to do anything I desire but most of all the one who reveals who God really is to me. There is one who we can believe in, put our trust in and look to provide for our every needs. One who will never fail you... The ONE and ONLY ALMIGHTY FATHER GOD. He is one that never changes... never. He is the Rock in which we can build our world on. Promises that have endured since the beginning of time and ones where we can put our faith in so we are not moved by what we see but that in which we believe. So even if all hell breaks loose just know that God has taken care of His people from the beginning of time... even through times like these. Finally folks i got some pics from saturday night at the mercury lounge thanks to honozooloophotos. A band called Rocket Powered Cadillac jammed into the night playing some jazzy, soulful, and funk music that kept your head nodding all night long. The two beautiful singers soothed your soul with their voices and the band with their individual styles fused together to bless the crowd from beginning 'til end. The emcee of the band BLESSCHIL' took to the mic on a solo set with the authority and favor of the Holy Spirit lyrically delivering verses over a dope beat that had you nodding your head and put your hand in the air and say... this is hip-hop. Last but the most important, the crowd who were mostly getting spirited up another way were being introduced to AFRESH throughout the night thanks to BLESSCHIL' shoutin' out! It sparked a few interests in people asking me what is AFRESH all about and you know.... YOU KNOW WHAT I GOT TO SAY TO THEM!!!!!
